A Salute to Hate Mail

We get hatemail here at RFD America on occasion. The vast majority of whiners lament our point of view and claim we are rabidly anti-government. But they have something else in common. The writers are racists and proud of it. Check out the following from our pal Bruce Martin:
The Terrorist Farmer: Why Janet Napolitano is right
When the DHS released the report titled Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment, conservatives learned we are being targeted by the federal government, singled out as likely to commit heinous acts against people and property. The April 2009 report highlights another group that worries officials: American family farmers. And the truth is, if history is any indication, the report is dead-on accurate.
Toxic Water, Race, and Reparations
Have you seen Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack lately? He's positively glowing, radiant even. It's the aura of creation, the expectancy of blessings and praise. And what, you ask, has the good Secretary and the USDA done to facilitate such emanations? They've spent $ 2.08 billion of taxpayer money for "Recovery Act water and environmental project loans and grants, benefiting people throughout the country."1 Now, that's something to glow about. Who needs a chicken in every pot when we can have water and environmental projects throughout the country and money for everyone?
They Won't Eat It: Taiwan Bans U.S. Beef
How safe is the food you eat? The USDA will tell you it is the safest in the world. Too bad for them that the rest of the world doesn't feel the same way. Taiwan's legislature has officially banned the import of American beef, despite the pitiful pleadings of the USDA and the Office of the United States Trade Representative. Taiwan is concerned that American beef is contaminated with Mad Cow Disease. And they're right.
The Fort Hood Shooter Was an Obama Adviser
Why was President Obama so reserved in his response to the Fort Hood massacre? Because the radical Islamist terrorist was one of his advisers from the Department of Homeland Security. That's right. See the entire report here. Have a look at the pictures below. Hasan is on the left with the microphone in front of him. His name appears on page 32.
Was One of the Founding Fathers a Socialist?
Thanks to Glenn Beck, most conservatives are more aware than ever of the works of Thomas Paine, especially Common Sense. Beck is particularly fond of this early pamphlet that helped shape the political atmosphere in Revolutionary America. Paine's ideas were considered radical at the time, even by fellow revolutionaries. The ideas expressed therein were more about rhetoric than policy. Common Sense was a rabid diatribe against the Crown and against monarchs, and in an era of turbulence, it was seized on as a rallying cry for the masses. No wonder Glenn Beck likes it. But, Thomas Paine's ideas weren't new, and they weren't what the other Founders embraced.
Money for Minorities: No European-Americans Need Apply
On December 9th, the USDA announced it had awarded $14 million in funds to help "socially disadvantage" farmers. The term "socially disadvantaged" is a euphemism for Black or Hispanic:
A socially disadvantaged farmer or rancher is one of a group whose members have been subjected to racial or ethnic prejudice without regard to their individual qualities. Generally, socially disadvantaged producers who participate in OASDFR-funded projects develop profitable new farming or ranching practices, receive loans more rapidly, increase their farm or ranch income, continue farming or ranching longer and are less likely to go out of business.
