Liz Cheney for President?

It doesn't make sense. President Obama doesn't want to re-open an investigation into interogation abuses by the CIA, which was investigated by the Justice Department five years ago, with only one person charged. Yet, Attorney General Eric Holder, insists on pursuing this damaging course against the advice and wishes of the President. For what? Well, if you connect dots, you come up with an interesting picture.

The Surge Towards Tyranny

The Federalist papersI've been roundly criticized by my liberal collegues, called insulting names, and had my intellectual integrity questioned because I've suggested that our current President could very well lead us off a cliff like so many lemmings to plunge into the dark cavern of government tyranny. When I compare Barack Obama to Stalin, I am not engaging in hate mongering or fear mongering. I'm simply making the same point Alexander Hamilton made back in 1787:

Meet the Czars-Part 3

A CzarCovering all the President's Czars is becoming a bit like watching an endless stream of clowns pouring from a flower-powerd Volkswagon and parading around to the gleeful squeals of amused children. And while the Administration is certainly a circus of jackasses complete with socialist clowns, and their far-left supporters are amused to no end, the adults in crowd--those of us who have to pay the price for all of the clownish shows--aren't laughing.

Here, as promised, are a few more of the clowns in Washington trying to amuse the left:

Rural Broadband: Just Another Government Land Grab

Satellite dish in the countryRural Broadband, the 4 billion dollar give-away to giant communications companies like IBM and GE, has been dubbed the "cyber-bridge to nowhere" by the Wall Street Journal. But it's much more than that. It's a taxpayer-funded land grab by the federal government. Look closely at the following statement by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilisack on July 1, 2009:

"The Department of Agriculture's Broadband Initiatives Program will bring high-speed Internet service to communities across the country, create thousands of jobs, and improve economic, health care, and educational opportunities available in rural communities. This funding is a down payment on the President's commitment to bring the educational and economic benefits of the internet to all communities."

The Right to Own Property

Declartion of IndependenceIt has long been held that property rights are human rights. Ayn Rand, famous twentieth century philosopher and writer compared the right to own property to the right not to be enslaved:

Obama is Exactly like Lincoln

You are missing some Flash content that should appear here! Perhaps your browser cannot display it, or maybe it did not initialize correctly.

President Obama would have us believe he's channeling Abraham Lincoln, you know, the guy who freed the slaves and ended the Civil War? Are you nodding your head in agreement? Stop. Obama and Lincoln do have commonalities, but they're nothing to crow about.

Both men offered hollow promises of change to their contemporaries. Lincoln presented himself as a friend to slaves, while at the same time supporting the Compromise of 1850. This "compromise" was a disaster for free blacks in the North. It made it illegal for Northerners not to turn in runaway slaves, effectively changing the free states' borders. After it passed, slaves had to make it all the way to Canada to find safety. Would a man who says he abhors slavery support this law as a private citizen? Lincoln did, publicly.

Climate Protection: A Constitutional Right or a Elitist's Delight?

Mob chanting for green energyIn case you haven't noticed, a group called the WeCampaign, which is a project of the Alliance for Climate Protection, founded by the great green guru Al Gore himself, is running national ads on network and cable. The public service style ads claim everyday people should support the cap-and-tax bill because it will make our lives easier. Yes, every ad is trying to convince someone of something, but what's disturbing about the ads coming from the WeCampaign is the underlying belief  they expose. Al Gore and his green groupies honestly believe that the American people want the Government to make our lives easier. And that's the problem.

Health Care Reform: So Easy a Fifth Grader Could Do It

Tug of WarIf anything about the current health care reform debacle is clear, it's that everyone agrees on one thing: what we have now doesn't work. So, if we stop the silly tug-of-war that the spin doctors have goaded us into, maybe we can see the answer lying right in front of us. While progressives like Michael Moore might want nothing but a one-payer, government-run medical system like they have in Cuba, reasonable people understand that government-run medicine is a failure in Cuba, as well as Europe, Russia, and every other country that has tried it. On the other hand, we have giant insurance companies that are playing hard and fast with government rules (remember AIG?) and consumers' money.

Understanding Liberal Mind Control and Rightwing Mobs

Mind ControlListen up all you right-wing mobsters. It's as obvious as the nose on your face: the uber-liberal elitists in Washington D.C. are worried. But if you think they're going to take their Koolaid and go home, think again. The White House has given liberal spin doctors their marching orders: slash and burn. If you get hit, hit back twice as hard. But, once again, the Obama Administration is a living, breathing example of what happens when ignorance and immaturity prevail in any organization. They believe this hit-back-twice-as-hard strategy to be an example of strength. It's actually and exercise in strategic stupidity, evident by their poor use of allegory. No doubt "hit back twice as hard" is an anthem of playground brawlers everywhere, but as an adult strategy for generating dialogue, it's just silly.

Obamanomics: Here Come the Food Shortages

Starving child in the cityWhile all eyes are on Wall Street, watching for even the faintest signal that the economy will recover as promised by Barack Obama, no one is paying attention to what is happening on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT). Here's a clue. It doesn't matter what happens on Wall Street. The big players and the big money have abandoned stocks in favor of commodities. Commodities aren't something the average American understands, let alone associates with wealth. But it is commodities, the tack and trade of big agribusiness and big Government, that are the backbone of the economy. And what is happening there is beyond alarming. There's a food shortage coming to America.
